Backing Up DVDs to a Harddrive

I tried using MakeMKV for some home movies. What I really think I want is Make MP4 because google drive or microsoft one drive won't play MKV files and that is how we share. So I use handbrake. Works, but I wonder, does DVDfab extract in whatever format you want to avoid this extra step of converting?

Been a few years since I used DVD Fab but fairly sure that you can choose what format to convert to. I use 'WinX DVD Ripper Platinum' these days and it allows you to choose the format and has decent trim/edit functions.
