But that's really their private business, and dscussing it here won't lead to anything positive, so I'd drop it.
As for me, I listened to Time last night and found the production more tasteful than I expected, though I'm not a fan of the pumping-limiter sound typical of the 21st century (where the recording quietens for a split second after every downbeat). I listen to bands like Low, so this kind of production, morose affect, and glacial tempi are hardly a stranger to me (let alone anyone who enjoys doom metal, a band like Bohren & der Club of Gore, slowed-down chillwave stuff, etc.).
Other people listen for different things and won't connect or want to connect with this approach. I didn't have a problem with it but don't feel compelled to seek out the whole album either.
