I've been listening to the new mix quite often now - definitely more than I have ever listened to the album before. I enjoy it for what it is. I am not a super-fan of sax on any track (that happens when the first version of Money you hear is from Delicate Sound of Thunder, with Scott Page murdering it...) and I do prefer Broken China to this album.

However, I still think Steve Wilson did a great job with the new mix. The production seems so clean and every instrument has breathing room.

I wouldn't be listening to other albums like this, but the Richard Wright factor always gives it a Floydian feel. I can't wait for the Blu-ray.

My cd came in today, and I really enjoyed it. So much so that I played it three times in a row before following it with Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue. Really had a lovely music day over here in spite of the triple digit temperatures.

If you appreciate the original for the absolute gem that it is, you will definitely enjoy this remix. The packaging is quite attractive as well. Very pleased all around. 10/10

About Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue; if you have the deluxe version there is a magnificent piano (I think that it's an instrumental) very Brian Wilsoneque on the bonus.

It is a corollary that one's work in King Crimson does not reflect one's work outside it - that is true even of Robert Fripp; that group has something that turns every member into a vessel for something entirely itself.

To be fair, Mel had gone that smoother direction on his own after that formation of King Crimson ended, so he was being nobody but himself on "Wet Dream". I'm not into saxophone, unless its John Coltrane playing it, but, to compare Collins to Gorelick is unfair to the former - unlike the latter, Mel is always in tune, and his melodic sense is well-developed, sophisticated and inventive.

Also, I wouldn't call "Wet Dream" smooth jazz in a strict sense; if anything, it has more to do with ECM releases of the same period, such as those by Pat Metheny or Eberhard Weber - polished music, yes, but adventurous in a quiet way.

I do wonder if Wright and Gilmour were spurred into making their solo albums more mellow as a reaction against the aggressive nature of Animals the previous year?

The blu-ray has been pushed back, seemingly to November.
That's the second delay. Anyone have a lead on why?

Maybe they read this thread and are still removing the glitch I described on page 5 in post #64 of this thread.

I discovered this album thanks to this edition and I love it. I knew it existed, but never really paid any attention and kind of forgot. I remembered it this month when I saw it in a local shop and listened to it for the first time. I didn't expect it to be so good! Don't ask me why. But it actually sounds more like Pink Floyd than any Pink Floyd post-Animals...

Cant wait to get my copy in a few weeks. Although I should of ordered the UK version since I just seen an unboxing on Youtube and the back of the case shows “region 0” which leads me to believe its region free!

I received the beautiful blue marble vinyl and the Blu-ray today. I've listened to a bit of the 5.1 mix and it sounds absolutely amazing! Still haven't listened to the vinyl.! Cant wait to sit down and listen to the whole thing. Im also eager to hear the 4 songs with removed vocals.

is there some video footage ? home video holiday footage perhaps ? or studio recording session video footage (we can dream) ?
did you check if the menu have ambient mixes or perhaps some audio snippet which are not on the "Wet Dream" CD ?

ok, so the "exclusive" content is only the 4 songs mixed as instrumentals tracks and ?
the video footage has no sound/music ? this is just a diaporama ?

the video footage has sound/music - but these are just regular tracks overdubbed

have to upset - I wouldn't say "mixed as instrumentals tracks" - I would rather say "isolated instrumentals tracks" - at least if you use any modern voice remover you will get the same result - ha ha

as for menu loops - they just used one minute excerpt from Against The Odds instrumental version intro

also - the flat transfer of original mix has an annoying bug - the intro of Holiday lopped approximately 1 sec

oh, ok, I see, so something like http://mvsep.com can give us the same result (AI extraction choose 2nd option instrumental tracks)
Too bad that some outtakes; alternate takes or studio snippets are not hidden in the menus or easter eggs since S.Wilson got the multitracks.

Hi guys, got my Blu-Ray version of that album today.

Hooray, the glitch I discovered and described in post #64 and #65 on page 5 has now actually been corrected on the Blu-Ray version!

Did the producers really read along here, correct the glitch and thus cause the delay in the release date?

                            For your information:
In "03 Cat Cruise", right at 4:28 minutes, there is a pretty present glitch on the right channel - maybe caused just by turning the guitar track back on - and not noticed during the remix process and postproduction. This concerned the CD and the downloadable Hi-Res version.

This glitch is now gone and respectively fixed on the Blu-Ray!

On the Blu-Ray, the point in question is at 12:23 minutes.
I'm stunned and feel honored at the same time!
