    AVCHD to dvd

    Hello everyone

I have a WYWH W8 folder in AVCHD (1,5 Gb)

I know it is in BR format, and I'd like to burn in a dvd to listen by the BR player

First question please: which folder do I have to copy into the dvd?
the AVCHD should be the root folder? OR
do I have to copy the content of the AVCHD in the root folder of the dvd? OR what else?
    thanks

Second question: once burned the dvd (in the right way, as by your advices) does the BR could read the dvd (or maybe these are BR format and they need a BR support?)

    THANKS!

DVDfab works perfectly fine! All BR players should play DVDs.

I am pretty sure you can't just burn BR files to DVD. Blu-Ray files take up way more space than DVD files do, keep in mind that the DVD format is only capable of storing 4,7 GB in the case of ordinary DVDs, and 8,5 GB in the case of dual-layer DVDs. Furthermore, the files are simply not the same for the two formats. Blu-ray is a HD format, while DVD is SD and not capable of HD - you can't burn HD files to DVD, it will have to be downconverted to 576p if your DVDs are PAL, or 480 if your DVDs are NTSC.

So I am pretty sure you will need to use a program to convert your Bluray files to DVD first. It's not as simple as to just burn BR files on DVD due to the difference between those formats.

        thanks to both of you

Skinny12: I just like to copy (burn) the file into the dvd in the right way, so my br reader can read the music, without using any other program or converter, just burn the file
I'd need to know which folder shall be the root folder of the dvd

ILuvHoney: the files are 1.5 Gb in total, I think it is only audio

        Thanks again!

Oh, as said above this wouldn’t work. You need to recode the files…
