      Hi,
by no means i want to compare our little podcast to this one, but listening to this episode i literally feel the “horror” having a guest like David who is starving them to death (is it the right description?) so many times. Yes, no, ehmm. It’s really tough because they are so motivated but David does just not want to chatter…

Having had very different guests at Fingal’s Cave i know this feeling.

Or am i the only one feeling that way?

      Best

Yes, I was hoping that David would be a bit more welcoming, at least out of courtesy for Guy. But no, it was like pulling teeth, with David not hiding his grumpiness and lack of interest...

And just to be clear, I love David as well as Rockontours podcast, but I think Gilmour owes them another episode some time in the future...

He really should have been on promoting-new-album-best-behaviour for this and at least qualified his yes/nos with a few further words even if still circumventing the question. Always thought Rick was the best interviewee for providing frank and sincere answers.

Does David have something to hide?

Yes, I agree with you. Interesting that Polly was in the background, ‘supervising’?

I though Guy was annoying Gilmour at times and got the skunk eye?

Interesting the Gilmour was on a drink driving ban.
He probably hit the bottle during the fall out with Roger in 85. lol

I cant see (hear) his vocals lasting this tour.

Sadly, defo some undercurrent or something going on there health wise.

Seems very much his normal, affable self here to me. Thought it was a great interview. None of the usual questions about Dark Side, Syd, the breakup, potential reunion, etc. Very in the present.

That was my take on this interview as well.

Slightly disappointed to learn that It was Rick who'd asked David if he could join the 2006 tour, rather than the other way round, as I'd always assumed was the case.

So I just listened to the episode, expecting the worst after reading through this thread but I have to say - I never got the impression that David was grumpy or in a bad mood at all. He is just a slow and considerate talker.

If anything Guy and Gary annoyed me throughout by talking over Daves responses so much... I regularly listen to their podcast as they have a lot of really interesting guests, but they aren't very good at listening, and often break up the flow of the conversation by interrupting with silly remarks etc. Guys like Bob Lefsetz are much better at long form conversations in that respect.

So anyway - while not enjoying the album much, I really enjoyed this podcast episode

This is how I perceived the interview as well. In fact,I felt like David and Guy get on quite well. Just my $0.02, your mileage may vary.

Seriously! David has always acted like this. It's not grunpy or anything, he just isn't a very big energetic person. He seems completely normal and himself here.
