Interesting story for anyone tired of the crazy fees and service charges when buying tickets in the USA.

The government chose to allow the merger back in 2010, and you can argue that it was a different administration at the time, but the breaking point was when all those parents had to endure the endless whining when their kid couldn't get Taylor Swift tickets (let me insert the appropriate emoji🤮) Prior to her tour, there was grumbling but not much else. For every mile of road, there's two miles of ditch. Three if you're on the Interstate. - Derek Bieri, Vice Grip Garage

Yes the podcast mentioned that. Also talked about a really horrible example of Live Nation rejecting tickets purchased by fans through Stub Hub because the venue chose to originally sell them through a different ticket service (not Ticketmaster). They also do the promotions and can stop venues from getting a popular artist if they don’t let Live Nation control everything through exclusive 14-year (!!!) contracts. Sounds very slimy.
