Questions about Extraction version of SOYCD

What do we actually know about the Extraction Tapes version? Is it actually a different take, or rather the same take before edits (both cutting and adding material)?

some years back when the Extraction Tapes came around, I had always hoped to one day stumble across a “complete” version of SOYCD using the “alternate take” on that release and the version most everyone is familiar with to create a seamless, single track version with all the available material.

the problem is the sound qualities are somewhat different as the album version is in better fidelity.
    So
for the members who have been making mixes of multiple sources, is if there is a way to
    match the sounds at all?

the Extraction Tapes version has several minutes of material that was left on the cutting room floor while missing elements that ended up in the final mix.

I would likely be using GarageBand or some similar DAW to try it out. Any tips?

You might be able to use "Wine Glasses" to segue between the different versions. It's tough to cover up differences in sound quality. I sometimes use additional sound effects etc to cover up differences in source sound quality. You could use AI to create stem versions of the Extraction versions and combine them with stems from the official version. I use this website at times to do that for free: https://vocalremover.org/splitter-ai
Looking forward to your mix 😁👍

Thank you so much for your suggestions. I am very much so new at this, though I have been a working musician for many years now, and I am very familiar with music production both in a real studio and using my home demo recording studio.

However, my knowledge largely lays in the field of getting sounds onto tape (or DAW) rather than the processing side of things. Ideally, I want to do as little to the actual sources as possible, but matching the sound qualities and textures is likely going to require some light processing.

I will direct message you when I finish it up, although I am very busy over the next week or so, so if you don’t hear from me, don’t lose hope.

      Thanks again.
