Old way of saying "/" according to my research. Really stupid and snobby to use it in a new 2024 article in an attempt to sound fancy.

While there’s plenty of new information provided through the interview, you can tell the writer thought he was being very clever with his choice of words throughout the article. Whole lot of text with not much to say.

        Not unlike a certain lyricist…

(please don’t hurt me it’s just a joke)

Journalists are consumed by this belief that they are intellectuals, but, whatever the case, I found the article rather touching; I wish I could find a woman who loves me as much as Samson loves Gilmour.

I hope Polly doesn't write David's biography, but it's going to be full of children and drinking in his face........

I liked this interview. VERY often I get myself thinking about mortality. I'm 29 and I already get myself thinking about this. 'One of these days' I'll be gone. Pew, just like that. And I won't even notice, BECAUSE I'M NOT HERE!!! That scares the hell out of me. At the same time, that's what we do, right? We... die? Hahahahaha.

It's kinda weird. I'd like to be here forever (here, in Raving and Drooling, obviously)

I'm with you there, also of the same age and also thinking about death daily; I'm more afraid of the process of dying, of the suffering while not yet there, but it's simply an specific experience of the same fear that grips us all. While not wanting immortality, I too crave eternity, and wish I had enough time to do what I feel is my mission, while having intact enough faculties to see it giving joy to others.

Paradoxically, because I feel so old, I also often think about killing myself. And that is perhaps the most strange part of the whole thing...

                All life is ahead.

Not counting the number of years lived.

                I am 58 years old =)

No I just feel like it. That was based on a comment of being 29 and and another of being of a similar age.

I knew what the journalist meant without having to do any research. It is normal English, if slightly archaic. How did you reach the conclusion it was 'stupid and snobby' phrasing, used 'to sound fancy' simply because you had to Google it? It says more about your grasp of English than anything else.

Edit: I see you're American, so it all makes sense.

No need to be a dick. Sorry I'm not speaking the "superior" English.

                        Nah, I'm not sorry.

It's not English; it's Latin. "Cum" translates to "with".

Easy now, no international incidents please.

Good piece. Nice to see more than the usual stock Q&A. Polly's lyrics have made me cringe in the past, but they're much improved in the new album and the two of them have a legitimately touching love story.
