                That's a good story, and worth adding to the 1973-03-05 Archive page. I wonder how it fits with taper Jared's recollections, though - you would have thought he'd have remembered a massive explosion, and more of his recording might have come out if they'd switched to a minimal PA partway through? Do JEMS have any photos from the show?

                  Ouch! They didn't have much fun with the pyros, did they? There was that time one of the steel base plates overheated in one of those "Roman candle" type bins and exploded too. Two explosions seems a bit careless or unlucky - were they the same event, misremembered?
