Found this video some time ago while doing some research for a personal project of mine. Gerry tells his perspective of opening for the Floyd back in the days of Atom Heart Mother, with some trademark dry humor. Afterward, the band performs "Lonely People" with a nice tribute to the late Dan Peek.

While not a lot is known about PF's opening acts (the few that they had), I would guess this was probably at some sort of festival where America's set preceded PF's by some amount of time, meaning that they didn't necessarily "open" for them, but did perform before them at said festival.
