Roger Waters - Speak To Me/Breathe

Love the Free Four intro! It sets the tone of "an old man looking back at his youthful work" perfectly.

I feel like I'm in the minority of people excited for this. It feels like a sweet little art project.

Actually, I really liked these two. The Free Four intro was really cool.

While I have been enjoying these (I actually liked the Money lyric video and am proud of it) the poetry has felt a little shoehorned into Time and Money, but with Speak To Me it actually really works well because in a way it was kinda like that anyways.

The Free Four part is very powerful as a spoken word piece (even if it sounds like the voice-over to the start of a movie). The rest of it - meh.

I liked this one like I did with Time, but not more than time. So far, Time was almost great, this is very good, and Money was horrendous. I think he really chose the worst track to show off first because it completely killed the "hype" for me and some other folks. If he chose to release Time first then I'd still have that hype.

Everyone is saying stuff about the Free Four intro so there's nothing new for me to say there; I just like how he chose to end it by actually adding it to the chords that end the choruses in Breathe, the C>Bm>F>G etc, into the actual song. Tiny stroke of genius there.

Anyways, good effort overall. Still can't see myself buying it.

I like this track quite a bit, didn't hate Time, and hated Money. I will buy it because I'm a completists sucker. Other than that I agree with everything here.

I didn't hate Money, but I didn't love the vocals either, so I was a little scared the whole album was going to be like that. But so far, all the other tracks sound amazing and have me really excited. Was not expecting to hear Free Four but it works so perfectly.

I wonder if Nick Mason still gets sole writing credit for “Speak to Me” now that Roger repurposed it for his “Free Four” lyrics.

That question is the only interesting thing about this release so far.

Especially compared to the happy, almost children's song-like melody of Free Four. I wasn't expecting anything like this.

I'm not particularly excited, but I am definitely curious.
