I believe that if David Bowie were still alive he would be doing exactly that, exploring the possibilities of AI as a tool for creation. He was that kind of artist.

Miss that guy. An incredibly unique energy in music.

So I was messing around over at Udio and came across someone's version of a Miles Davis vibe in the vein of Round Midnight. Gotta say it was kind of cool, maybe make some good background music while working.

In the case of this Beatles song, it isn't being used to approximate something that didn't happen. It's being used to isolate something that DID happen and to remove everything else.

With the Beatles remixes, the Prof Stoned restorations, the stereo remixes other people make, etc... these isolations are used as "stems" to create stereo mixes in lieu of having a multi-track to mix from.

Again, it is not a means of creating something that doesn't exist or making a fake John Lennon or Syd Barrett voice, like some of the commentary assumes on the first page of this thread. They are two completely different things.

That's, why I responded with "Pink Floyd "Music" Created With Or (better) By AI?" ...

I'm 99% sure nobody here pays attention to country music, but recently, Randy Travis released a new song. Not from the vault, brand new. The man suffered a stroke many years ago, and at first I thought it was miraculous he'd regained his singing voice.

And then it came out that what had been done was somebody else sang it like he would've, and they used AI to change that person's voice to match his. Honestly, as a Randy Travis fan, I felt cheated. Make of that what you will in the context of this thread.

But, I'd love to have AI used to clean up muddy audio recordings. Like, what would this recording have sounded like using modern equipment?

This is exactly what I don't want to see... and it makes my head hurt.
