What is Dave laughing at ? - Pink Floyd - Live - Altes Casino , Montreux Festival November 21 ,1970

This has always intrigued me. 13:19, during Fat Old Son. Does anyone have an inside story ? Being 53 years old, I realize I am opening a cold case.

Ah, quite a phenomenon. I also remember David laughing in Washington ´71 after the footstepsection in Cymbaline. Could be some insidejoke. Maybe some tensionrelief. Or after some quiff.

He was most often singing so it was obviously more noticing. Ha.
I´m sure Nick laughed also sometimes as they are photos of Roger. Although I don´t need laughing musicians on stage all the time, you know gravitas, etc, it´s nice they had fun.

Maybe something in the crowd. Maybe the naked man that appeared at some shows ?

Was just going to suggest the naked man. Just one of the new things I learned from Ian and Nils. Hoping he gets tracked down for an interview one day.

he laughed at the last minutes of Cymbaline on 22 November 1970, i guess because of the horrible noise
that was pretty avant-garde, wasn't it?

I've sung backing vocals in bands and sometimes you can get the giggles due to, I think, not getting enough oxygen in! Too many long phrases and not enough air, plus the split-brain job of singing and playing guitar. You get a jolt of 'hang on, I'm doing both!'

That and Dave was maybe a bit baked? One slightly arched eyebrow from Nick might have been enough to set him off.
