I think the title probably says enough. Why the hell does Roger get that tonedeaf yank Jonathan Wilson - who can't sing at all - to sing all the vocals that he himself doesn't sing, when he has great singers like Jon Carin and Dave Kilminster in his band?
Carin has proved himself very worthy as a singer, among other things at the In the Flesh tour where he sang a version of Dogs that in my opinion was better than the original album version, as well as on countless tours and concerts with Roger, Gilmour and the Bogus Pink Floyd.
Kilminster proved his merits as singer on Roger's DSOTM tour. And he was without doubt much better than that yank idiot Jonathan Wilson!
so why does Roger get that yank idiot Jonathan Wilson - who can't sing at all - to sing all the vocals he doesn't sing himself? I wondered about the same thing back in 2017-18, and I am still wondering about the same thing. I am yet to meet one person who actually likes Wilson's terrible vocals.
so why does Roger have belief in him? I understand that Roger is a very kind old man who probably doesn't want to tell anybody anything they don't want to hear, but I have also heard that he is a perfectionist who demands a lot from his performers.
so why can he accept Wilson's terrible vocals? I understand that he might find it difficult to tell Wilson directly the fact that his vocals are terrible and that he can't sing at all - but again, not doing so is an insult against Carin, Kilminster and any person in the band who (unlike Wilson) actually can sing! It's also an insult against us fans who pay a lot of money to see Roger, and - as far as I can see - universally dislike Wilson's absolutely terrible vocals!
Why doesn't Roger just keep that awful yank away from the microphone?
