Nick Mason says Roger Waters' rerecording of The Dark Side Of The Moon is "absolutely brilliant"

An interesting take on something he helped bring to life.

Waters reportedly gave Mason a sneak peek. "He actually sent me a copy of what he was working on," Mason said. "And I [wrote] to him and said, 'Annoyingly, it's absolutely brilliant!' It was and is. It's not anything that would be a spoiler for the original at all, it's an interesting add-on to the thing."

I admire Nick's ability to stay out of conflict and remain on friendly terms with both sides for so long - I am pretty sure that Nick played an important role as glue to hold the band together back in the days. I am looking forward to hear Roger's DSOTM reinterpretation - it's not like it will replace the original, but hearing a new take on it will be interesting. I am pretty sure that Roger would not have released it unless it actually is pretty good.

It will be interesting to see if he tours the new version.

If he tours again, I would assume that he performs some of his new versions of the Dark Side songs, but I doubt he will play the whole piece. He hasn't toured a full new piece since Radio KAOS, after all.
