    3D Printing

Anyone else have a PF related print?

Just ran off this Battersea Power Station. (Little rough, draft settings and filament not great)

Nice, The "The Wall" one is very cool! May I ask how you made it multi-colored? Is it a special printer, or separate prints puzzled together? And is that a slightly gray color in the background, or is it just the same white as the bricks, but in shadows?

I use a Creality Ender 3 S1, so pretty standard printer. The slicer software allows you to stop the print at certain levels so you can change the filament color. I just learned how to do this and the wall print was my first try at it. (some higher end printers will do two filament feeds)

The base is black and then the bricks are just white after that. The printer put down a thin layer of white on the black which turned the "mortar" grey with the bleed through. Wasn't expecting that. I was going to try both a black and grey base to see which one looked better but this one came out pretty nice. The lettering was just the same process, the program stopped after the bricks and I switched over to a glossy red.

Nice! Would you mind sharing the model somewhere? I'd love to give it a try myself.

The design wasn't mine, it was a free download over at Thingiverse:

This doesn't look like much at first but when put up to a light such as a computer monitor it's kind of cool.
