Dark And Velvet Nights came off best IMO, but the rest of it was pretty anemic. Breathe into Time...Gee, where have I heard that before?

The vocals were a bit weak but that's understandable for a 78 year old. Other observations- The backing band is excellent as always, the tempos remain too slow for my taste, the solos are beautiful but now all sound the same, and yeah, the band did not look excited in the slightest. I kind of hate to admit it, but at this point in my life there's no way I'd drive the long distance and pay rock star prices for a show, even if it's to see my favorite guitarist.

I enjoyed watching it. I''m also enjoying the new album. I paid rock star prices for good seats at the Royal Albert Hall. Looking forward to it. First saw him in 1968, last time 1980, I'm going to say goodbye to him.

I think David was clearly holding back a bit in the rehearsals - like playing a pre-season friendly. The first part of his solo in Time really felt like he was phoning it in. I'm sure the gigs will see them give the full 100%

as for the looks on the faces of the band, i'd guess they were all just concentrating on playing their parts well/not messing up. after a few more rehearsals, when everyone's a bit more in tune with everyone else, maybe they'll feel more free to smile and/or goof off with one another? i'm hoping they're musicians first, friends after...

also, i'm wondering which of the other ladies will sing romany's parts for the shows that she won't be attending? david indicated that she might have school commitments that will keep her back home for some of the shows. if i were fortunate enough to be able to go to any of them, i'd be super-bummed if she wasn't there to sing 'between two points.'

Gilmours guitar playing is great. Romany is very talented. Songs were lacking energy but its a rehearsal. you cant expect much.

I’ve seen a few videos now from todays/yesterdays (depending on time zone) rehearsal. While I still maintain that David’s claim of his voice being in better shape from last tour is quite a stretch, his guitar playing is nothing short of amazing. I think this is the most in the pocket I’ve ever heard him play.
